Study of Reflections from Solar Power Plants
We will assess whether a photovoltaic power plant in a given location could cause hazardous glare—for nearby traffic, airports, or control towers. We will compile the results to serve as a basis for the relevant authorities and agencies.
Under certain conditions, photovoltaic panels can be a source of intense glare, which poses a potential risk to air traffic, road and rail transport, or nearby residents. This assessment is particularly relevant in airport approach corridors, near highways and rail lines, within the field of view of control towers or dispatch centers, and in locations with direct visibility to populated areas.
Using specialized software, we model whether and to what extent glare from a specific PV plant area may pose a problem—both for precisely defined observation points and for an overall assessment of the situation. The output is a technical report with a graphical evaluation of the glare level throughout the year. If the results do not indicate a risk, we will issue a conclusion that glare is not a problem and no special measures are necessary.
Every assessment includes a site inspection by an experienced technician. Based on this, we will provide you with a consultation and a specific proposal for the next steps.
We deliver the report in a format accepted by building authorities, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Railway Administration, the Road and Motorway Directorate, and other relevant authorities and parties to the proceedings.
